I have to advise a theatre (the performing arts type) on H&S but have never had any experience in this area.
Does anyone have any useful info, example RA's, guidance docs or internet links they would care to share?

Thanks for the response but yes I had already seen it.
Trouble is that most of it is aimed at other areas of the entertainment industry (although a couple are useful).
I've done the usual searches etc but come up blank. I can use my general experience to come up with the usual H&S advice but I was after something more specific. It's a small(ish) town theatre putting on small(ish)-scale productions.

Lots of things to consider.
Manual handling for stage hands.
RRO.
COSHH for makeup.
Noise assessments.
Try not to make a drama out of it.

They publish quite a few books on technical theatre subjects (http://www.abtt.co.uk/pages/about/publications.php), and their Codes of Practice are probably the closest to what you are looking for: http://www.abtt.co.uk/pages/publications/codes.php

Thanks for those that have responded so far, sorry about the time delay in coming back to you (been mad t work so far this week).
Don't really have time to wait for ordering publications though (and loathed to as may never use such specilaised info again).
