Hello Folks

I am looking for help, would be delighted if anyone could oblige.

We are looking for signage to place on / in vehicles to explain that they are off the road when a defect is identified. I have been browsing for suggested layouts / words to put on the sign, but to little avail

Is anyone able to assist - thank you all !

Andrew,

we dealt with this on a daily basis when I was in the military as a wksp manager. We placed an A4 sign in the window of the vehicle saying VOR (vehicle off road)and a red tag (VOR)on the vehicle key ring, which was then locked in a key press only accessible by the mechanics who would be sorting out the fault.

On completion of repair/road test and out inspection the signs and tag were taken off and the vehicle returned to its user.

regards

Nutty

Hi Andrew, as Anthony has suggested the REME (sorry workshop in civvie) idea is a good one and prevents unauthorised use until the vehicle is taskworthy again. You could add an additional line on the signage as a brief description of the fault.

Hi Andrew

Check out www.sgworld.com

They have a range of different scafftag systems for vehicles, with daily/weekly check books.

We use steering wheel covers which are quite effective. They have "VOR - do not use" wording on them and a plastic pouch where you can put your jobcard / defect list in.

Can't think for the life of me where we got them from though - quick google search should find 'em!
