Hello all,

Can anyone in the food industry share their solutions to unloading of plastic box pallets (dolavs)?

We have a need to empty dolavs of product which is typically in small bags. The issue is the bending required to reach the lower parts of the dolav.

I have considered the two popular solutions to this issue, i.e.:

High lift pallet trucks, but thought they may be unstable when the dolav was being unloaded.

Mechanical tippers, but the space available is too limited for these to work effectively (or safely).

I wondered if a dolav was available with a 'spring loaded' base so that the load was always at the top of the dolav.

Any views from those with experience in this area would be welcome.

Why don't you use/specify the types with hinged or removable sides?

Have tried the drop side type but this does not eliminate the need to bend to floor level.
