Hey All,

Wonder if anyone has done a paper on directors or boards demonstrating their commitment to H&S?

I need to write one and rather than start from scratch I'd appreciate a look at an existing example if at all possible?

The document I'm drafting will contain things like;-

- Background
- Legal requirements & impact of manslaughter bill
- How Directors can add value
- Options for practical implementation (i.e: site visits specifically for safety etc)

Thanks in advance

Hi Ian

I have a few things I can email you which may help. Not directly relevant to all the areas you mention.

Please just drop me an email and I can send you anything that may help.

Cheers

Ian

Ian,

Why not start with the Institute of Directors' joint paper with the HSE which can be located at this web addres:
http://www.iod.com/inter...re/en/pdfs/hse_guide.pdf

It gives some fairly basic topics that could be used to RAG status your view of where you think there are gaps in the board's ownership and implementation of health and safety issues.

Hope this helps.
