As a point of interest is anyone able to inform me just how many people are registered to use the open forums, broken down by member and non member and how many people are registered for the closed forum?

Also are we able to identify the number of log ons per day that are occuring, together with the number of forum hits per day?

You have me interested. Why would you want this, what use would it be and what does it have to do with health and safety?

Just wondering about the value and use of these forums. Is there only a couple of dozen people looking at them each day or several hundred/thousand unique hits/logons with relatively few posters?

I normally check the forum at least daily, but only logon if I want to raise a new thread or respond to a previous post.

Bob , I have e-mailed the webteam to see if they have this data. I agree it would be interesting to know. Well for us information freaks anyway.

Bob, I think that last year someone came up with a figure of around two million hits for the year.

I really cannot remember the correct figure but I do remember being impressed.

Good question. Hope we get the numbers.

Hi Forum users,

Thanks for your question about the IOSH discussion forums.

Here’s some figures from last year:

• From April 07 – March 08 we had 42,579 postings across the IOSH discussion forums.
• Broken down, this works out to 39,426 on the open forums and 3,153 on the IOSH Members forum.
• We also had over 3,600 new forum registrations during that time.

Best regards,

Tom

Have you a count of how many people actually reading the site rather than the number of postings after all not all readers post?
