I work for a manufacturing company that has & is under going considerable change, this involves moving departments, factories and large plant/machinery.One element of the project is completed then the next element may start 3/4 weeks later.
The project is over a total period of 18 months however there are continual lengnthy breaks in between work, what lenght of time between work would remove the need to notify under CDM or is the project notifiable as a whole.
We are not trying to avoid notifiable work, I would just like some input.

I would advise thinking of it as one job as irrespective of CDM we still need to manage all areas properly

Additionally if the cost is above £300K an environmental SWMP may also be required

If in doubt - talk to your local HSE inspector

Hi Darren.

Our company had a similar issue a little while back, where we were refurbishing toilet facilities across the site. Each toilet facility took approximately 4 weeks to refurbish but the separate projects took about 20 weeks as there were a few WC's to refurbish.
As such we spoke to the LA who advised us that each WC could be viewed as a separate job and would therefore not require notification. Perhaps you could speak with your LA on the matter to get their view.
