Posted By Robert Paterson Hi All Looking for some info. We already have established welding booths and have added additional 4 booths. We carried out noise assessment and decided that as the levels we almost at the upper action level a noise protection zone was put in place. The additional booths fall into this area. Hearing protection is mandatory and is enforced. Can anyone tell me if there is anything else we need to do? Regards Robert Paterson

Posted By Tabs The areas should be defined by signage, and you should look at health monitoring (hearing) of those working in the areas. Those working in the areas (and I would suggest adjacent to the areas) should be given training and information including the mechanics of noise and hearing loss. I suggest those adjacent to be trained also because of the temptation to pop in to controlled areas without protection.
