"Too many people see health and safety as a convenient excuse to ‘ban’ people’s pleasures, others don’t pay enough attention to it or try to cut corners."

I for one would just like to say "thanks" for telling it like it is.

Mick

PS I have never met Mr. Hurst and nor am I a sycophant.

This recent trend of "telling it like it is" is very welcome to me as I had a reputation in the 80s and 90s of standing up to Elf and safety fools who by their well meaning, but ill judged,(or easy way out) molly cuddling almost ruined the hard won reputation of proper safety people.

My vociferous stand was, in those days, looked down upon by some who have held high IOSH office and I am sure that there are several black marks against my name as a result.

Never mind, we now seem to be trying to put some sense into the real world of H&S! long may it continue.

I might even consider coming back to work in the UK if this attitude prevails!!

Tony Hill.

Fantastic! - I have been saying this for years. Well put Ray Hurst (whoever he is) - the well meaning often get so fanatical that they lose sight of the real world!

Yes

Well done Ray Hurst. I too dont know him personally but he gave an address at the Bristol & West IOSH AGM which was very interesting.

My opinion is that his beliefs are well founded and he is passionate about them, as are most of us who use the forums.

He is a likeable down to earth character (well thats my perception of him) and his message is not lost at any level.

Great Work Long May It Continue.
