Posted By Pete48 If you avoid the sensational headline and read the article then somewhere within you will find a comment that says something like "this research does not prove that BPA causes heart disease and diabetes, but it does suggest a need for more research". The devil is always in the detail. Keep chatting:)

Posted By CFT Not quite singing from the same hymn sheet as Pete on this one, and have requested our suppliers to provide information into what sterilisation technique they use. It HAS been proven that leaching BPA's increase dramatically when subjected to a heat source and digestion of same has been linked to a variety of illnesses including breast and prostate cancer. While the levels of released BPA fall within safe limits as currently defined by the European Food Safety Authority, it has been suggested that bottles made of high-density polyethylene would be far safer. Studies have evaluated BPA as a hormone disruptor, a chemical that CAN alter the hormonal activity on the body, and minuscule amounts can induce profound changes. The jury looks like being out for a long time, BPA's came about during the 1930's whilst trying to create synthetic oestrogens, I would like more research on what is after all something many people worldwide use every single day of their lives.
