Now does that mean it can cause depression (like the british weather) or does it mean it is a depressant ? As an ex-psycho nurse I know the difference eg,alcohol is a depressant but I'm depressed cos I can't afford it. Anyone know the answer please (and no guessing or Tony will get ya LOL) JimE

As you will remember from your formative years! there are 2 nervous systems the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system. CNS is a physiological depression of the nervous system, which can result in physical symptoms ie slow breathing, decreased heart rate etc it can shut the whole body down and result in coma or death. I think you probably know all of this already. from another ex old nurse PS Think I may have to suggest to the local brewry to name a beer "CNS Depressant" I smile at the thought of asking for it.!!
