Hi, looking for guidance regarding the construciton of system scaffold stair towers. we have just had one erected on our site and their are different stair components in use. some have 7 or 9 stair treads and the longer stairs are almost horizontal. is it ok to mix different sized starir treads. the fatenings are all ok.
Rgds

manufacturers do not like their systems being mixed with other manufacturers stuff
Even where differing systems are supplied by the same manufacture mixing is still not [usually] the way to go
Ask the supplier etc

Hi Paul,
I was on a Bovis site recently and noticed the same thing.I spoke to the scaffolder and he said that they use the different stairs on the same system to achieve the correct angles as the scaffold was being used by brickies who need half lifts on some levels to lay their block.
The mix and match question will probably only come into dispute if a failure of any sections occured and the individual manufactures looked liable.
