Could you please explain to me when an ADR licence is required for drivers...I ship auto parts throughout Europe via sea & tunnel....it is my understanding that a licence is not needed for Ltd qty goods, but is needed for Airbags/seatbelts UN3268 PGIII even if within the small quantity threshold, also that batteries are exempt from ADR regs
I ship
1.4s UN0432 Articles pyrotechnic
9 UN3268 Airbag module/Seatbelt pretensioner
2.2 UN3164 Articles pressurised pneumatic
8 UN2794 Batteries wet filled with acid
3 UN1263 PGII Paint Ltd qty
2 UN1950 Aerosol paint Ltd qty
The paint and aerosol are always shipped in ltd qty......Drivers are telling the loaders that they do not need to be trained to carry our shipments is this true?

if an article has the LQ0 in column 7 of ADR list then NO exemption to ADR exists.
UN0432 is not exempt as you can't carry in LQ.
There are other 'mutipliers' for LQ ADR para 1.1.3.6.4 refers.
So you will have to go through the exercise with all the UN numbers and PG / TC to see whether it is still exempt and can be carried as LQ.
If any item has to be carried in accordance with ADR, you can still put LQ packages on as well

Thanks for the quick response
So for the non LQ items would a driver have to be ADR trained and have to show his card if requested by our loader even if within the Transport threshold

This is how I interpreted the regs but one of the F Forwarders had their ADR trained driver leave as they wouldn't pay him extra and they are now saying an ADR trained driver is not needed for anything under the Transport threshold...but we refused to load until we looked into it futher
