Hi to everyone,
it's been a few months since I have been on.
I have the Nebosh construction cert and want to emmigrate to Western Australia.I have looked at the 'Vettases' via the skills occupation list on the oz gov web site.
Is there anyone who has went through this process and succesfully been accepted etc?.Im thinking of Nebosh international diploma (UK)and/or the cert IV in H&S (OZ) but dont want to fork out money on the wrong course? ,
Thanks in advance everyone/anyone who may help.

Hi James, there are many posts on this subject in the Careers forum part of the board but a quick response is that Vetasses don't recognise Nebosh Diploma as a qualification. If you have a degree in another subject that theuy do recognise then that will support your visa e.g. if you have a business management degree but specialise in health and safety then the chances are that your visa will be supported by the business management degree.
I think the postgraduate certificate/diploma/masters is recognised so it may be worthwhile looking at that level. I'm doing the PgC with Strathclyde and it's far better than the Nebosh diploma which I did 2 years ago.

Thanks Emma.Im from Glasgow but live down in Oxfordshire.Do i need any other qualification/s before venturing down the Pgc route as I only have a Nebosh construction cert?.My aim is to gain a recognised qualification that will put me in good stead to emmigrate!.
I have over fourteen years in the scaffolding and access sector,petro-chem/off-shore etc..,also nvq level 3 advanced CISRS card.
Any advice much appreciated.
Is the Pgc full time, distance learning etc?,any links?.
Kind regards
James.

I got onto the PgC with Nebosh Diploma Part 1 - I'm not sure if the Construction Cert would be enough. You could always ask the question to the admissions department...
I'm doing my PgC with Strathclyde University, distance learning. The support you get is fantastic and would highly recommend it.
