Hi,

One for the CDMC's, hope someone can advise.

I have assumed that if a project comes to an end close to or before the planned duration of the construction phase submitted in part 13 of the F10 that no further HSE communication with the HSE is required and further notification is only required if the duration of the construction phase will be significantly longer that previously stated. However, a conversation with a client raised a couple of questions: -

Q 1 - Do I need to notify the HSE when a project ends (assuming it ends close to the "planned duration of the construction phase" estimated and submitted in spart 13 of the F10)?

and

Q 2 - If the project ends before the number of weeks estimated, do I need to notify the HSE?

Thanks, Neil.

Paragraph 19 of the CDM ACOP suggests that if a "significant change" occurs it is helpful to notify HSE.

e.g. if start date changes by a month or more.

Not convinced that start date changing by a month or more is a significant change on a major project.

No duty to notify change to end of construction phase except that ACOP indicates that if a non-notifiable scheme has a significant change in scope that makes it notifiable, then HSE should be notified. (ACOP para 17)

Regards, Peter

Hi,

Simple answers:

Q1 - No

Q2 - No

If the project changes you should advise the HSE, but only if the information relates to the sections on the form. If you are not sure, give them a call.

The only time that I have notified the HSE of the cessation of a project was when the client went in to administration. This was so that I could identify that we (as CDM-C), the designer and principal contractor were no longer working on this project and who the administrator was.
