Hello All,
I was wondering if anybody had a good example of a risk assessment for the use of a forklift truck? I am hoping that with an example or two it will give me direction do develop one for our workplace. Many thanks

I haven't got a completed one handy but consider:-
Hazards - collision (with structure or pedestrian), overturning, drop load, mechanical failure, operator falls out etc
Control measures - LOLER inspection, PUWER inspection, regular maintenance, pedestrian segregation, reversing siren, flashing light, head lights, training, one way system, seat belts, pre-use check sheet, warning signs, flooring in good condition, key removal when not in use.
I'm sure there are more.

Hi,
Another issue to be considered might be battery charging.

HSG136 is very comprehensive and lists what you need to consider. I think you have to buy it but it is well worth having.
