If only that was the sole criticism that could be levelled at them.
I appreciate that they have had their budget cuts but the hypocrisy of the HSE seems to know no boundries.
As an ex employee I can speak from experience but as we have to sign The OSA then cant go into specifics.
There are people there who do a good job but its just unfortunate that the majority of them are managed by a bunch of cretins.
Still thats the Civil Service for you.

From what has been described, it seems that the original HSE headline was a typing error or lapse of concentration compounded by a failure to proof-read what was typed. Does this really provide just cause for criticising the work of the HSE policy unit? As for the assertions of HSE hypocrisy by the pseudonymous paulw71, I'm ex-HSE myself but don't recall HSE being managed by "a bunch of cretins". Like organisations generally, surely HSE comprises a spectrum of people ranging from some who are exceptionally good to a few who are notably bad.
If this thread is an overblown complaint in response to failure by one or more people in HSE to proof-read what they've typed, it's very ironic that it is on this discussion forum which has a goodly share of contributors who seem to care little about spelling, punctuation and proof-reading! Surely good communication is an important element of working in occupational safety & health or any other profession or that matter. Therefore, do sloppy and/or notably unbalanced contributions on this website tend to give people outside IOSH a poor impression of IOSH members and associated people?

Oops - Though I did proof-read my previous note before hitting the submit button, one glitch got through. The phrase "any other profession or that matter" should of course have been "any other profession for that matter". Okay, it's obviously time I logged off and got some sleep.
