Evening
Does anyone know where I can find guidance for arborists working on trees along the verge of a highway. Do the same rules apply for when carrying out road works. Also any guidance on arboricultural work would be helpful
Thanks in advance

Hi,
English Nature have produced a document Veteran Trees A Guide for Risk & Responsibility also there is a BS 3998 Tree Work. Local council will probably be able help as they have to deal with 1000s of trees along highways, in schools and other council premises.

There are links on the HSE website to specific guidance for this industry. If you can't find it (I don't have it immediately to hand) drop me an email direct and I'll dig it out for you as we recently did some work for some tree surgeons.

Best wishes

Thanks for the link and is useful, but doesn't give any guidance as to how to manage work along side a road or highway.
I may decide to recommend the sane rules as working on the roads etc
