Posted By J.Walford Good morning all, I have been asked this question, "We will have 2 people working in the building. For example at the moment there is not a toilet down there and they would have to come up to our other building to use ours. The buildings are about 110 meters apart, is it sufficient to ask staff to go to another building to go to the toilet or to make tea etc" Can anyone advise on legal requirements?

Posted By A Campbell J, If this was a construction site.... the distance would be gratefully accepted by a lot of the work force! The words... suitable & sufficient... and reasonable would all be needed to take into account.

Posted By Chris Packham Why not just have a chat with the people concerned, explain the situation and see if they are happy to go to the other building? Chris

Posted By Safe System why not provide a porta-loo for the guys for "emergencies" and let them also use the facilities as described in your original post.

Posted By J.Walford Thanks guys, I'll get the company to have a chat with the workers and see if they are going to be happy with things as they are. Wasn't sure what the law stated. Think the "suitable and sufficient" comes into affect.

Posted By Ron Hunter My local Hypermarket has a travel distance to welfare facilities for some staff which is further than that.
