Posted By stevenm If workers working in China may have been exposed to Asbestos and will probably remain overseas for 3 months would it be prudent to arrange Occupational Health in country or is it possible to wait till they return to the UK Issue is I am not sure of the quality of occupational health there Any thoughts Regards stevenm

Posted By Rodger Alan Ker This may be a little bit late now if your people have already gone to China, but what you should be considering is providing these people with asbestos awareness training, geared particularly to the fact that they will be going to a country that is still using asbestos containing materials (ACM'S) on a day to day basis. From my experience you can still find ACM's being used in vehicle and machinery braking systems and as gaskets in exhaust systems and many other areas where we would consider them to present these days. They need to be told to think what Britain was like forty years ago but with today's knowledge of the subject.
