Posted By Raymond Rapp It largely depends on what your company policy is with regards to return to work. Presumably the person is fit to return to work, otherwise they would still be off. When you say 'weekend' I infer by that the injury was not work-related. In the absence of any further information I suggest in the first instance a return to work interview to establish their fitness and the cause of the injury.

Posted By Lukasz Yes injury was not work related, however my concern is that he is doing daily manual handling tasks... Would you recommend any particular questions on back to work interview related to back problem? Or put him on light duty... Should we require statement from GP? I am asking about best practice in this accident.

Posted By Wil The initial back to work interview will largely dictate what measures you put in place. I would talk through his normal day from arriving in the car park through to leaving in order to cover all aspects of his day on site and not just his work.
