Posted By Peter F Apart from pages like this and of other professional bodies discussion pages, which I feel are valuable. Anyone else get fed up with the same response when phoning professional bodies for advice of 'depends on what the risk assessment states' or words to that effect. I am often phoning them whilst compiling the r/a and requiring further information.

Posted By Chris Packham I'm not sure if I have ever said "Depends upon the risk assessment.", but I have frequently said it depends upon the circumstances, conditions, chemicals used, methods of use, etc., etc. I am frequently asked over the phone and by e-mail for advice about a particular chemical and exposure scenario. Trying to give advice is a bit like being a GP asked by the husband in the surgery to diagnose his wife's chest pains when she is still at home! Would you trust a GP who did this? Chris
