Posted By ScotsAM Hi Does anybody have an example of a risk assessment for manufacture and automatic dosing of chlorine gas from hydrochloric acid and sodium hypochlorite?

Posted By Ron Hunter An obvious conclusion of such an assessment would surely be that there are safer ways, i.e. using manganese dioxide or potassium permanganate in conjunction with HCl?

Posted By ScotsAM Is that such an obvious conclusion? The two chemicals used are controlled adequtely in MHO. The problems I forsee are more what happens and can go wrong once the chlorine has been produced. Just wanted to know if anybody has had previous experience of this.
