I need to brush up on what to look out for when I am out on site regarding safe behaviours and standards on scaffolding and WAH. Any one out there got details on the safety guidance, when to wear a harness, rules etc... given to scaffolders.

Cheers,

Craig.

Hi Craig
Get a copy of SG4:05,this is a good starting point, however, this is guidance and there has been flaws identified regarding 'Heights to be clipped on'.

Hi Craig,

On from the SG04:05 as mentioned above there is also a great DVD 'Preventing Falls' or something similar, on the subject which makes it all a bit easier to understand as it is 'shown'- not to pricy either see the NASC Website.

There is also an Appendix A to the SG which is free to download from the website.

If its the actual structural stuff you are requiring then you require TG20 which is a bit pricier!!

I would also suggest you go on a 'Scaffold Inspection' course which is about £100 in my experience (with the grant makes it about £40 - next to nothing!!). We do them as standard for all site supervisory staff and can be very informative.

Hope this helps
