Posted By DaveCole Good afternoon All. A question that I am looking for some advice on. We are due to move our operation to another site shortly. Our current offices will be moth balled with a view to returning after 12 months or so. We have an existing fire trace running with a service agreement. Are we required under the regulatory reform fire safety order 2005 to leave this running when the building is empty? Any advice greatly recieved.

Posted By Bob Youel even if you are not occupying an undertaking the responsibility for it still rests with you - I would check with your insurers for specifics but if you make the place very secure and take appropriate precautions you should reduce your fire loadings
As usual undertake a visit to your local fire Service centre and undertake the fire RA and you should get the answers from there as it may be cheaper to continue as you are noting that the fire service has changed its response protocols recently
