Gardener's World last night : An admirable schools gardening project was being presented, with children weeding, planting and sowing.
Most of the kids were wearing hi-vis vests. Why ?

Hi,
So they can be spotted when making their escape.

Nothing like high-vis to attract greenfly, then comes the ladybirds to eat the green fly and before you know it - your own little eco world.

Merv,
I would have thought that the hi-vis vests were being worn to simply show that a risk assessment had been undertaken!

Maybe the children walked from the school to the garden area?

Assuming the kids did walk to the garden; did they need hi-viz vests on the pavements?
Unless of course they went via roadworks?

Steven - walking on pavement - need to cross some roads at some point?
Local infant school beside me - even going to the library they wear hi viz - and plenty of escorts to ensure safety.
