Posted By Paul Leadbetter I had a heated discussion with a friend (a civils project manager) the other day about the applicability of the Order to MoD bases. I contend that the Order does apply, except for differences in enforcement, he was sure that it does not. Is there anyone from the MoD on here who can settle the argument?

Posted By AHS Paul I can see no exemptions under the FSO however the latest Terror Legislation seems to give unlimited exemptions/powers to all these bodies.

I am not a MOD person but I believe the Order applies to MOD premises. Subject to the caveat 4(a) below, which presumably is interpreted as military action etc.
(4) The requirements of articles 8 to 23, or of any regulations made under article 24, do not have effect to the extent that they would prevent any of the following from carrying out their duties— (a) any member of the armed forces of the Crown or of any visiting force;

Posted By Lwood You could of course talk to the MOD fFire Service Team at Abbey Wood (the MOD telephone Operator should be able to put you in touch).
They are there to advise MOD establishments and they will be the ones comming round to audit your compliance with RRO.
Hope this helps

Posted By Paul Leadbetter Thanks, everyone
I have also found an entry on Wikipedia (though I know it is not always right) which confirms my view.
