As the Government suggested Organisations should draw up contingency plans to cover key personnel if they contract Swine Flu.
My boss has said it's in Scotland, we are on the South Coast, so no chance of it coming here.
Have any other H&S Professionals received a similar negative answer.
I am drawing up the contingency plans myself just in case.

You will probably find that most sensible companies already have contingency plans in place for flu pandemics.
I have worked with 3 companies over the last 5 years putting these plans in place and although it's not nice to have to enact it there is a certain comfort in knowing that you have a mechanism for dealing with it.

As part of a worldwide corporation we have had in place contingency plans for pandemic flu epidemic for some time, although precautions are currently in place the current threat level is relatively low. This can change very rapidly.
Many large public services have had such contingency/continuity plans in place since the recent bird flu.
It's interesting that this has rapidly progressed since the recession... wonder if there is any connection there?
