Posted By Colin McEvoy Hi, I'm about to enrol on diploma course, provider asks if I meet the criteria for Tech IOSH. I already have National Certificate and Open University degree that includes health and chemistry (not H&S management), but my job is split 30% Health and Safety Advisor (7 yrs)/70% scientific role(25+ yrs). Also unsure if wise to try and gain Tech IOSH if this requires CPD at the same time as studying for the diploma. thanks Colin

Posted By David Matthew Colin, Best bet is to contact membership and ask their advice. Be prepared to provide an up to date CV etc. Regards David

Posted By CFT Colin Yes 'TECH' level of membership is highly likely - as commitment to H&S need not be in a full-time role. CPD will be mandatory at this level and throughout; the good thing with going for the diploma is that a substantial amount is totally suitable for CPD submission purposes - dependant of course on what you get from it. Don't let joining and entering CPD put you off. Good luck CFT

Posted By ScotsAM Sounds like they're only asking if you meet the criteria (5 yrs experience (paid or otherwise) and NGC or equivalent qualification), not if you actually are TechIOSH. Could be to assess how able you are to complete the course as it is a poor reflection on them if anybody fails.
