Hi All
As with most of elf n safety roles, environment is incoporated within the job.
However my knowledge of the environmental legislation would be fairly limited.
I am a SHEQ Manager based in the NW of Northern Ireland and am seeking a decent course to enrol on which will be beneficial to me in the course of my duties.
Oh yeah, just to clarify construction is my field, but I want a course to be a bit of an all rounder.
Thanks
Lee

Hi Lee,
I'm in NI, but years ago did a 2-day internal environmental auditors course with www.sqt.ie which I thought was really good, in Dublin.
Might be a bit pricey to do a course in RI with the exchange rate now though!!!

Thanks for that, I see one of the recommendations of a recent 14001 audit conducted with us has recommended that I attend the Lead Auditors course and I then train the rest of the dept.
I was more looking for a PGC/PGD or something along the lines of even a general certificate for the management of environmental aspects of business.
I see Queens offer the Masters- not sure about though seems a bit of a big step- anyone out there tried and tested this avenue?

Hi Lee,
I'm currently in the process of getting booked on the British Safety Council Diploma in Enviro Mgt in Belfast and is accredited by IEMA. Pretty pricey but i think from reviewing the contents of the course it will be a great help. I too need to improve my 'E' side of my job role. Check out their website, though 1st modules are set for mid june so better be quick!
Cheers, Gav

Lee,
Norwich Union Risk Services are looking to run their integrated environmental programme in Belfast.
The programe consists of 3 modules. Iosh managing Enviro Responsibilities, IEMA associate certificate and Nebosh Environmental Diploma.
I have completed the first 2 modules, had to go to England, but as a H&S Manager who was also given Environment I fond it a good introductory course.
