Posted By Sir Galahad Could anybody expand on this question please? Is your organisation aware of its responsibility to comply with the Essential Requirements of applicable directives, including use of standards and risk assessments (risk reduction by design, risk reduction by use of safeguards, warning of residual risks, etc.)? Not quite sure what its getting at this question was posed in a contractor pre-qual questionnaire Thank you all in advance for your help Sir G

Posted By Richard Altoft Obvious answer is "YES" since organisation is a collection of people and someone somewhere it is is hoped will be aware. Complex question - simple answer - job done R

Posted By Richard Altoft Sounds like a lift from somewhere perhaps OHSAS18001 or some guide on controlling contractors or guide to being a good director - I don't recognise it. Perhaps someone asked to borrow a template and then when they got one just used it without thinking !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! R

Posted By Pete48 What a wonderful example of how not to use a closed question when one may be seeking an unlimited response. So many words in one question that then allows such a simple reply. I love the irony of that. Are you involved with machinery manufacture or supply? The reference to "essential requirements" might derive from that arena rather than general H&S?
