Before you can begin to solve this you need information on the wavelength of the light and its intensity. Since you can send laser light down fibre optic cables it may not be trivial.

Suggest you talk to Laser Components, who have a wide range of glasses and goggles - but you will need to find out the power and wavelength of your sources. If it's comms work, 99% of the time it'll be an infra-red solid state laser somewhere between 850nm and 1600nm, but the end-run power depends massively on where you are in the system. Given laser goggles are fiercely expensive, it's important to work out if you need them in the first place.

You should go to the HPA web and look at the Laser safety section. Before suggesting eye protection (PPE is the last resort) it is imperative that you understand the power and wave length , class of laser etc. if the this guys are fibre techs they should have had training . In addition ether are other hazards such fibre off cuts
