Posted By Pete Longworth I take the view that it is the department in which they are working. I am currently going through the same process of trying to assemble a group of RoES. We have a situation where there are a number of different shift patterns. In one area the shift working pattern is 4 on 4 off alternative days and nights with about a dozen people on each shift. In this instance shifts 1 and 2 will elect a representative to cover both shifts as will shifts 3 and 4. I reckon this will work because there is a cross over period between each shift to allow for shift changeover issues. In another area there is day and evening shift working. In this instance I want each shift to elect their own representative because of the larger numbers of people involved.
