Hi,
One of our rigger had an injury in his right hand middle finger while demolising a mobile crane counter weight.
He was provided first aid and latter send to hospital. There were no fracture but underwent 3 stitches in his finger. Further the doctor adviced for a 5 days sick leave.
Whether this case to be considered as LTI or a First aid case.
Whether I can deploy this workmen in my project for some other light duty job.

It certainly sounds like an LTI (5 days lost) but that will depend on your company definition of LTI.
If his doctor has said he is not fit to work then I wouldn't ask him to - unless he goes back to the doctor and gets a note saying he is fit for light duties.

Some of the terminology used, for example whether it is "first-aid, medical treatment, restricted work or lost time" depends upon the system you use for statutory(external) and internal reporting of the accdents. if using the OSHA one, details are at:-
http://www.osha.gov/pls/...vel=1&p_part_number=1904
In any case, the decision on the nature of work the injured peron may undertake will depend upon the medical advice and your own risk assessment.
