Posted By Safe System Hi All, As Well has H&S i am also the AP for my company. I have been doing lifting plans but we always use mobile cranes or excavators for small items on site... my latest challenge is a simple lift but using a tower crane provided by the PC. Before i would be looking at crane types, ground bearing pressure, size of mats etc etc... but with the tower crane what sort of information would be recommended to include... as the afore mentioned is more based around mobile... It is a simple lift of a 5 ton excavator over a 6ft wall into a pit..

Posted By alex mccreadie Safe System treat it the same as the mobile. All you must ensure is that the crane is capable of Lifting the weight to the given radius. This should be easily checked by the duties board on the crane or failing that the Specification sheet that either has been provided or can be provided by the crane supplier. All the rest should be as normal, Lifting Points qualified Slinger /Signalers and the like. Regards Alex
