What is a pop-out roller and how does it prevent from nips or drawing-in and where is it fitted. I am sorry, it may sound as a silly query, but to be honest I am not able to understand looking at pictures.

When a driver conveyor belt reaches a transition, it is possible that things (such as fingers) can be drawn in or nipped by being dragged into the space by the belt.

A pop out roller is a free running roller at the end of the belt that can be lifted out, increasing the gap at the end of the conveyor meaning hands, fingers etc can be easily pulled out again.

Does that make sense?

May be a series of rollers, that are mounted in vertical slots in the bed of the conveyor, the weight of the load passing over them keeps them in place; an in running nip will force the roller upwards removing the trap.
