Posted By DHM Dear All I have been asked to find out what the minimum standards are for ballistic trousers in the waste collection industry. I have so far found two references one is a MOD standard and the second is on its way from our supplier. Following a personal injury that our insurers would like to payout on, does anyone have any more information in relation to this? Thanks in advance. DHM

Posted By Ian Blenkharn Bear in mind that despite the claims made - or more accurately those implied by reading between the lines - ballistic workwear is intended to deflect and resist cut and slash but are less able to resist penetration by a fine point. If you are trying to prevent needlestick injury, you may not be as well protected as you would hope. There are BS specifications for performance.

Posted By Phil Rose Sorry, I am not sure of any standards - I assume you're still doing bag collections?
