Posted By Stuff4blokes Can anyone point me to standards, guidance or advice on the design, management, supervision and maintenance of obstacle courses such as that featured on the TV programme Krypton Factor? I admit to being somewhat out of my depth with this query made of me.

Posted By martinw Hi S4B start with EN 15567 Part 1 - Rope Course Construction and Safety Requirements, then part 2 of EN 15567 which is Operation Requirements. Also EN 12572, Artificial Climbing Structures - Protection Points, Stability Requirements and Test Methods. HSE has some info on this if you look, and normal risk assessment on persons/tasks/maturity etc will all apply as you would expect. Go to http://www.ropecourseconstruction.com/ which is an exceptional site for the info you need: click on top right for standards and also on useful information - standards gives you full titles of 15567 above etc and useful information gives loads - a standard risk assessment, what pre and operational checks need to be carried out on the equipment and frequencies. Should be everything you need. cheers M
