Hi All,

Could any body give me some advice on workplace noise?

We currently have a vehicle workshop with a number of mechanics pits within the building. If all vehicles were to be running/revving their engines at the same time this would produce a large amount of noise.

Could anybody give me some advice on exposure limits and ways to test etc?

Any recommendations on the best noise testing meter?

Thanks all.

Details of the exposure action and limit values are contained in the Regs and there is some guidance on how to measure noise exposure in L108 from the HSE. However, if the measurements are to be reproducible and meaningful, they should be taken by a competent person.
