Posted By Crim If a construction project does not qualify for notification as CDM as it is only 21 days, but is notified to HSE via F10 is it still necessary for all requirements to be in place, i.e. Construction Phase Plan?

Posted By Robert K Lewis Obviously the CDM Co-ordinator believes it will run over :-)
Good to be back complete in new house, fractured posterior malleous with talar shift (tib and fib have come apart to the rest of us loonies) and a wheelchair (as I cannot balance on left leg because of my original disability problems). Also up early because of swelling in right foot. Seems the same old questions are still floating around and the HSE are still as efficient at helping as they always were!
Bob
PS If you have notified then you must obviously now prepare the CPP and the CDMC will need to prepare the PCI

Posted By Liz Maw If it's been notified I would assume the project will run over and therefore construction phas plan will need to be in place.

Posted By Crim Bob, sorry to hear about you present condition, hope you get sorted real soon. I just returned from a holiday at Walt Disney World Florida and ended up in a wheelchair/scooter as my arthritis got the better of me. Not as bad as you but bad enough for me.
Thanks to all for the input, the CDM C does not expect an over run, I suspect he is notifying the project to make more work for himself, more work = more money. It also means more work for me so can't complain.
I agree that once notified all Plans must be in place.

Posted By Simon Priest If it will only run for 21 days then why has a CDMC been appointed?

Posted By Crim CDMC is the design company who operate for the client who has a rolling programme of new store fitouts, refurbs and other alterations. The client has over 200 stores in UK.
I'm involved as H & S consultant carrying out safety inspections of stores where CDM applies.
All work is classed as CDM notifiable to keep the standard of safety high.
Keeps me going quite nicely.

Posted By Crim Not much more to it really.
I know all construction work is CDM but only certain work requires notification and the Plans. This work involves 21 days and is more like maintenance but the CDMC notifies to HSE and I want to know if in this circumstance are the Plans required.

Don't forget that many clients of this type have notified the whole programme to the HSE and are updating the local area offices of the specific addresses asa they come forward. Equally however the CP plan can be fairly standard providing the essentials are made site specific.
