Hi everyone,
Could you please advise what signage would be require for a loading bay? Lighting has been fitted, this is operated by the loading bay personnel, but we require signage for the external side of the building for the HGV drivers, is there a standard that is applicable for the signage?

I think first you need to be clear about what information you need the signage to convey. And then it should just fall into place.

How about signage for:
Forklifts
Pedestrians
speed limit
parking
no parking
hard hats
safety boots
no loading bay access
handing in of keys before loading/ unloading
toilets
canteen area
fire assembly points for drivers
First aid point of contact
Height and width as previously mentioned

Not to mention info on the control lights on the bays, which i think the original post is about and don't forget, French, German, polish etc etc.
have you thought about giving all visiting drivers a one pager on arrival(translated to as many languages as appropriate to your site) outlining your site rules and procedures, just put up the signs that are vital and multilingual, Speed limit, bay height, etc
