Morning All
We are about to start a construction project that will last 30 days
I am aware the CDM Regs state projects will be notifiable if the works last more than 30 working days... therefore my boss does not want to notify this project as we are complying with the Regs as the project is only 30 days and not longer.
However I spoke with an HSE inspector and they told me that once a project hits the 30th day then it should be reported.
Can anyone clear this up please, do I only report projects hitting 31 days
If someone can provide clarification please
Thanks Telfie

Too close a call by half. Bite the bullet and submit the F10 and put everything in place that makes it a notifiable one.
If your down to a one day differential you'll probly end upexceeding it anyway. It's not as bad as you perceive.

if you get 1 problem it may make the job a 31 day job so -as already recommended- 'notify' the job

The regs are pretty explicit in saying that notification is required for projects OVER 30 days or MORE than 500 person days

Thanks
My opinion stays the same, if the project is 30 days then I will advise that an F10 is sent in and we engage a CDM-C and so on.
If my advice is ignored then it's ignored. The project will still be managed the same, as best practice we complete a construction phase plan for all works.
Thanks Telfie
