I am intending to put together a regulatory profile for various countries within Europe including: Austria, Spain, CZH, Slovakia, Slovenia, Italy, Poland.... and on. I can obtain strategic overviews from the European Agency, however it is not easy to obtain a profile of specific countries enforcement authorities and regulations in English, unless i want to pay Enhesa 2,000 Euro per country.
Does anyone out there already have some info or can point me in the direction whereby i may be able to get what it is i am looking for?

Nigel,
I'm getting round this by considering the EC Directives that underpin national legislation, this has a legal standing (sort of) in that member nations need to consider this, so is at least consistent across EU nations. Croners H&S Law has a good list of EC Directives for H&S.
Of little comfort if you need to put something together for each nation though, good luck in your quest.

EU Directives don't necessarily guarantee consistency or a level playing field as the requirements of the directive then have to be adopted into each countries domestic legislation. Each country's legislature will interpret the directive and may introduce legislation that exceeds the requirements of the directive.
