Posted By RBW100 Hi All, I have a point on an escape route where you can go either of two ways to two different exits. I was thinking of using a sign like this: http://safety-signs-cata...t_left_right_bs_5499.jpg Do people think that this is clear and unambiguous? IF not what sort of signs would you recommend. Posted By Nicholas Sutcliffe I think that sign works, however its certainly not unambiguous, in fact its as ambiguous as it gets. ambiguous refers to several possible meanings which of cource that sign has. I say its still ok to use though, just being petty and pedantic (a rarity on this site i know!).

Posted By Peter Tanczos A photo of your emergency exit sign with arrows pointing both ways is likely to end up on a 'elfansafetygawnmad' website.(I've seen something very similar at www.failblog.org). If the only choices of route lead to emergency exits, why do you need the arrows?

Where is the fire assembly point and which is the most direct and easy route to get there and change the sign to ponit people in the nearesy and right direction so they can escape that much quicker and safer. Job done.

Job done." Could change sign to show only one direction, the most direct to the assembly point. If there was a fire blocking that exit, then the other exit may not be as apparent as it would not be signed. Can anyone point to any guidance that show some typical escape sign arrangements?
