Hi all,
The organisation i work for is looking to raise money in many different ways, one of those being a family fun day using the car park at one of the sites. I have been asked to be involved in the planning and assessment side of things and we have notified our insurers of this.
I just wonder if anyone who has experience of this could help please. We have considered things such as welfare facilities, risk assessments in terms of fire, first aid, traffic routes, young persons, emergency exits and other things we can influence.
Having said that, if we ask a company to provided, bouncy castle, food stands and other games etc how do we deal with this? I am planning to treat them much in the same was as a contractor in terms of assessing competence levels.
Am i on the right track here guy's, any pointers appreciated to ensure we have loads of fun and no problems :-)
Thanks

Have you seen the HSE event safety guide HSG195?

It sounds like you are on the right track. The risks should be relatively low on the proviso that the event is properly planned, use stewards where appropriate and competent contractors. Have fun.
