Tg 20/08 from NASC was published for this reason.

Standard about scaffolds
Pt 1 - general design and loading calcs
Pt 2 - Information about materials
Pt 3 - Load testing.
A quick 'BS12811' into Google would have told you this much

I've just sent a presentation I came across covering aspects of TG20-08 that may be of some use.

Thank you for the replies. I did actually look at a well known search engine but was inundated with information. All I was after was a simple summary. (Thanks Peter for the presentation)

Just to be clear the NASC TG20 document is specific only to tube and fitting scaffolds and 12811 must be used in toto for system scaffolds such as cuplock, kwikstage, plettac and similar systems.
The NASC recognised that the BSEN 12811 series could not be applied per se to tube and fitting work and gained agreement to update the old BS5973 to meet 12811 so far as applicable and to produce standard basic rules for standdard scaffolds thus limiting the design requirements. It is NOT therefore a summary of 12811

So if I quoted BSEN 12811 as a reference for working at height (Temporary Works Equipment) in my NEBOSH Dipoma Unit D Assignment, can I 'assume' that I would not be far wrong?
