Posted By Adam Worth I have started a project on site transport and quickly got overwhelmed :) It's a large (ish) approx 19 acre manufacturing site with road layout dating back to the good old days of horse and carts. Now my question is - templates and layouts and how to present this. The HSE start off well with lots of info and then link to the 5 step form. Some of the issues are going to be tricky and it has to include everything, from cyclists to large plant. Anyone able to provide any help or examples? Thanks in advance Adam

Posted By Coshh Assessor I went through HSG136 picking out the relevant parts and then assessed against each of these, giving a tabular format of criterion-compliance-recommendations.

Posted By Peter Zunda Adam, the HSE do provide information on an intermediate step before risk assessment that you may have missed on first glance; https://www.hse.gov.uk/forms/transport/wtchk1.pdf apologies if you'd already picked up on this.

Posted By Coshh Assessor The other thing I did (on a similar type of site) was to do a general assessment for site transport (covering the roadways, the vehicles, etc) and then separate assessments focussed on the issues of higher-risk parts of the site (warehouse, etc). This broke it down into manageable parts.

Posted By Adam Worth Thanks all! I now have a copy of HSG136 for review in the morning! Thanks for all those who have helped! Any further comments always appreciated. Some good ideas by email of using the CCTV to observe traffic flows too! I'm sure this will get easier as I get going, it was just hard to know where to start :)
