We have a requirement for inspection within an asbestos area. The person in question is asbestos trained but has a full beard. I am quite happy for the entry to proceed in a battery powered hood with a P3 filter (the APF is 40, the same as for a battery powered respirator) but this is being resisted by the clients asbestos adviser. The asbestos removal contractor is happy with the proposal.
Can anybody point me in the direction of any documentation which prohibits or advises against the wearing of a battery powered hood for protection against airborne asbestos?
Thanks in anticipation.

Thanks guys. I have similar views but didn't want to press it without getting the opinions of others first.
