Posted By Crim Is this guide still the one to have or is it under review? Is the Fire Protection Association document any good or would it just confuse the matter of fire safety in construction? Why is there not a construction fire risk assessment guide under the FSRRO? Just a few questions to keep the mind active during the bank holiday Monday.

Posted By Crim Just to bring this to the top, all I wish to know is what is the best guide to fire risk assessment on construction sites. I recently looked at the HSE books site and saw a guidance document due out in September, but it seems to have disappeared now.

Posted By Crim Hi, I take it that if there are no suggestions that nobody knows the answer? To rephrase the question - what is the current guidance document on "Fire safety on construction sites?" Thanks

Posted By Della Pearlman The 2nd edition of HSG 168 was due for publication in June 2009 - but has not yet been published, and I was unable to find out when it will be, so the first edition which is 1997 (I think) will still be valid until the new edition appears. You could try asking HSE when it will be available!

Posted By Crim Hi Della, I'm on the case. I just asked my nearest HMSO bookshop about it and they will contact the publisher tomorrow. I'll update this thread once I have more info. Thanks for your input.

Posted By Crim Hi I just spoke to my local HMSO bookshop who has contacted the publisher. The guide is due out in December having been put back twice already. I am also unable to purchase the earlier edition, they are out of stock and will not be re-published so would appreciate some help in getting hold of somebody's unwanted copy?
