Can anyone suggest a clinical waste collector who can pick up clinical waste at set times, and in the evening.
We currently run clinics in the day e.g. from 10:00am - 12:00 pm, or from 7:00pm to 9:30pm at night - something along those lines on different days.
We generate yellow bag waste e.g. wipes, bandages etc and also needle type waste which is put into sharps disposal bins.
Currently our staff are having to carry the bins back to base as we are unable to find a company who can pick up this waste at set, or late evening times. My predecessor tried before me to find someone with no luck and now i have come on board and cannot find a company either, but i find it hard to believe this to be the case and feel perhaps i am looking in the wrong place - thus, i put it to anyone out there who may be able to help.
There are procedures in place, but i along with staff members am not happy with the current arrangements, but as stated thus far no one can offer this sort of service.

If you are categorising waste properly, yellow bags should almost certainly be orange bags now, as per HTM 07-01. It's important to describe and categorise your waste properly, to avoid even higher charges for disposal.
Most companies will arrange collections for you, though this may be at times suited to their collection rounds, often very early in the morning, rather than late in the evening. If you really want a bespoke service, expect a hefty charge for that.
Any licenced clinical waste contractor will manage this for you, and if the collection time isn't to your liking, should at least help you arrange some secure storage facility that will be suitable for both parties.
Who can do this for you? The EA website has a look-up facility for licensed contractors, by waste type, in your area.
