Posted By andrew morris Andrew, Look for an IOA approved course. Try their site for providers.

Posted By Mick China I can highly recommend the course run by Tim South at Leeds Metropolitan University (assuming it's still going that is). You get plenty of hands-on time with sound measuring devices, and the examination at the end of the course is rigorous. The course is accredited by the Institute of Acoustics. The course lasts a full week if my memory serves correctly, the exam being on the final day. I should add that not only is the course excellent, it's fun to do.
